Chapter 15 - A Different Kind of Love

I met Daniel Reyes through the foundation.

He was an architect volunteering on a vocational-training center.

For three months, nothing happened.

Then he asked me for coffee.

I almost said no.

Trust had become difficult.

Daniel didn’t push.

Two weeks later, I asked him.

Our relationship developed slowly.

He never asked what I had inherited.

Never suggested investments.

Never called Dad’s company “our future.”

When I finally told him everything about Ethan, Daniel listened.

Then he said:

“You don’t have to prove to me that you can trust again.”

That sentence mattered.

He wasn’t asking me to heal on his schedule.

For the first time, love did not feel like pressure.

It felt like space.
