Chapter 10 - The Motel Room Was Empty

They arrived too late.

Franklin was gone.

The motel room showed signs of a struggle.

Damian had Franklin.

Luca looked almost proud.

“You finally understand insurance.”

“No.”

He looked at her.

“You learned.”

That night, Elena realized something else.

She trusted Luca.

Not because he was harmless.

He wasn’t.

But because unlike Franklin and Damian, Luca had never asked her to surrender her choices.
