Chapter 7 - The Press Conference That Destroyed My Father’s Lie

Elena walked into the press conference herself.
No veil.
No wedding dress.
No Luca beside her.
She wore her mother’s necklace.
Cameras flashed.
She presented the forged marriage certificate.
Financial documents.
The paramedic’s testimony.
Parts of Evelyn’s recording that her attorneys had cleared for release.
Franklin’s narrative collapsed publicly.
Damian denied criminal wrongdoing.
Franklin called everything fabricated.
Elena did not scream.
She simply said:
“My father taught me silence was respect. My mother taught me silence can also protect the wrong people. I’m finished being silent.”
By nightfall, authorities had opened new inquiries.
And by midnight, Franklin Ashford had disappeared.
But before fleeing, he emptied one account.
Seventeen million dollars.
Exactly the amount he supposedly owed Damian.
Luca looked at Elena.
“The debt was fake.”
She understood.
“The wedding wasn’t payment.”
“No.”
“What was it?”
Luca turned the laptop toward her.
“The fastest way to steal your mother’s empire.”
And the man who had invented the entire scheme was not Franklin.
May you like
It was Damian.
