Chapter 15 - Sarah's Question
Years of crisis had hidden something.
Dennis and Sarah were exhausted.
One night Sarah asked:
“Who are we when Tyler doesn't need us every second?”
Dennis had no answer.
So they learned again.
Dinner dates.
Bad movies.
Saturday markets.
Arguments about paint colors.
Normal things.
Precious things.
Dennis finally retired his old emergency contact list.
He invited Marcus, Anna, Cooper, Harold, and their families to dinner.
No missions.
No evidence.
No Barnes.
Just food.
Marcus raised a glass.
“To Reaper.”
Dennis shook his head.
“No.”
Everyone looked at him.
Dennis lifted his glass.
“To coming home.”
Marcus smiled.
“To coming home.”
They drank.
That was the funeral for Reaper.
