Chapter 9 - The Grandmother Who Vanished
Celeste’s car was found abandoned.
Her phone lay inside.
Blood stained the driver’s seat.
Dorian assumed the worst.
Alina didn’t.
“The blood is too obvious.”
Marco looked at her.
“What do you mean?”
“If someone wanted us to believe she was dead, this is exactly what they’d leave.”
Tests confirmed the blood was Celeste’s—but only a small amount.
Then security footage surfaced.
Celeste had entered another vehicle voluntarily.
The driver was Matteo.
Brother and mother were together.
But were they allies?
A voicemail answered that question.
Celeste’s terrified voice whispered:
“Dorian, don’t trust Matteo. I tried to protect both of you. I failed.”
Then a man’s voice sounded behind her.
