Chapter 11 - Eva Refused to Run Again

Eva retrieved the evidence from a buried waterproof container near an abandoned highway rest stop.

Aleandro accompanied her.

Inside was a flash drive.

Thousands of photographs.

Records.

Names.

Payments.

Tyler had been keeping private copies of Calder transactions for insurance.

Now Eva had them.

Victor studied the files.

“This could dismantle half their operation.”

Aleandro asked, “Can we send it anonymously?”

“Eventually.”

Eva interrupted.

“No.”

Both men looked at her.

“I want my name attached.”

Aleandro frowned.

“Eva—”

“I spent years being told nobody would believe me.”

She looked directly at him.

“I want them to know I survived long enough to tell the truth.”

Aleandro said nothing.

He wanted to protect her.

But protecting her could not mean controlling her.

That was the line he refused to cross.

So he nodded.

“Then we do it your way.”
