Isabella admitted everything.
Not immediately.
First she cried.
Then denied.
Then blamed Matteo.
Finally, Elena placed the toxicology report on the table.
Isabella broke.
She had helped Matteo weaken Nico because she believed the Valenti empire needed a more controllable leader.
“But the attack?” Nico asked.
Isabella looked away.
“The explosion was never supposed to happen.”
Matteo had escalated.
Then Elena arrived.
And suddenly Nico began recovering.
That was why the lab technician was attacked.
Why Elena was threatened.
Why Noah became leverage.
Nico stood.
His face held no rage.
Only grief.
“You raised me.”
Isabella sobbed.
“I loved you.”
“No.”
Nico looked at Elena.
Then back at Isabella.
“You loved controlling me.”
He walked away.
Elena followed.
Outside, Nico stopped.
His shoulders shook once.
Elena touched his hand.
