Chapter 12 - The House Trevor Called Empty

I renovated the estate.
Not because it needed renovation.
Because I did.
Trevor's game room became a library.
His private gym became a design studio for architecture students.
The wine cellar corridor was sealed permanently.
I removed every photograph that made me feel like a guest in my own life.
Then I established the Whitmore Fellowship for young women entering architecture.
At the opening reception, I looked around my supposedly empty house.
Students.
Employees.
Friends.
Laughter.
Hailey stood beside the fireplace.
Rebecca raised a champagne glass.
The house had never been empty.
May you like
