Chapter 16 - The House Derek Tried to Win

Hannah moved into the house.

The same house.

Equity.

Divorce.

Betrayal.

Now it became something painfully ordinary again.

Groceries.

Laundry.

Burned toast.

Arguments about thermostats, which was particularly insulting considering my profession.

One night Hannah said, “This place doesn’t feel haunted.”

“It used to.”

“What changed?”

I thought.

“People.”

She nodded.

Homes aren’t walls.
