Chapter 13 - The Night Belladonna Harbor Burned
Vincent attacked first.
Warehouses burned across the waterfront.
Police sirens filled the city.
Gabriel's legitimate businesses were targeted.
Luca's homes were bombed.
But neither man retaliated against the other's family.
The cycle had finally broken.
Harper helped evacuate workers from Marlowe's Harbor Diner when a nearby building caught fire.
Her old boss stared at the armed men protecting her.
“Harper, what did you get involved in?”
She looked at Gabriel.
“It's complicated.”
Then an explosion tore through the street.
Gabriel disappeared beneath falling debris.
Harper screamed his name.
For ten minutes, nobody could find him.
Then a tattooed hand emerged from the smoke.
Harper ran toward him.
Gabriel was alive.
Barely.
