Chapter 9 - The Enemy Inside the House
Gabriel ordered Sofia found.
Harper refused to believe she was the traitor.
“She took care of me.”
“That proves nothing.”
“It proves something.”
Gabriel's expression hardened.
“You trust too easily.”
“And you trust nobody.”
“That kept me alive.”
“No. Three hundred armed men kept you alive. Trust might give you something worth staying alive for.”
Hours later, Sofia called.
She wasn't betraying them.
Luca had kidnapped her son.
She had gone willingly to trade herself.
Before the connection died, she gave Gabriel an address.
It was a trap.
Everyone knew it.
Harper said, “Then we change the rules.”
For the first time, Gabriel let her help plan.
They rescued Sofia and her son without attacking the main compound.
But inside they discovered files showing Luca wasn't the mastermind behind Adrian's death either.
Vittorio had had a partner.
