They moved Harper to a remote Vescari estate.
Luca found it within six hours.
They moved again.
Another safe house was compromised.
Gabriel realized the impossible truth.
There was another traitor.
Someone closer than Vincent.
Harper watched suspicion poison the household.
Friends stopped trusting friends.
Men who had worked together for decades checked one another's weapons.
Gabriel became colder.
More ruthless.
Harper confronted him.
“This is what Luca wants.”
“He wants you.”
“No. He wants you afraid enough to become your father.”
Gabriel froze.
Harper continued.
“If you destroy everyone around you looking for one traitor, Luca wins without firing another shot.”
Gabriel hated that she was right.
