Declan turned himself in.
He confessed to fraud.
Assault.
Helping Arthur conceal evidence.
He did not ask Norah to forgive him.
That mattered.
At the courthouse, Norah saw him in handcuffs.
"Are you afraid?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Good."
Declan nodded.
"I deserve to be."
Norah walked away.
Forgiveness, she realized, was not an obligation.
Blood made people relatives.
