Chapter 16 - The Choice Leo Gives Her
Leo gave Norah three things.
A bank account containing every dollar of wages she had earned helping uncover the fraud.
A set of keys to an apartment.
And a choice.
"Stay or go."
Norah stared at him.
"You really mean that?"
"Yes."
"What if I leave?"
"I'll make sure you're safe."
"And if I stay?"
Leo paused.
"Then you stay because you want to."
Norah cried afterward.

Not because she was frightened.
Because nobody had ever made room for her choice before.
