Lucille offered Rafael a deal.
Walk away from Sofia.
Keep the family business.
Protect Emmett's inheritance.
Rafael listened quietly.
Then asked:
“What happens if I refuse?”
“Your son inherits nothing.”
Rafael almost smiled.
“You still don't understand.”
“What?”
“My son doesn't need your money.”
Lucille stared at him.
“He needs adults who don't teach him that cruelty is the price of belonging.”
Rafael left.
